Guided hikes
Accompany the hiking guides of the tourism association in summer on a range of guided hikes and enjoy funny, relaxed and exciting moments. Exploring the region, listening to interesting stories and finding out interesting facts – this is all part of the special service our region provides for you.
Music on the alpine pastures
On Wednesdays, there is always a guided hike to the most rustic huts in the region. Music groups from the region play there for the guests. There's no shortage of entertainment!
Guided hike along the tree trail
Christine Höller, a trained natural environment teacher, will guide you along the tree trail and tell you all about the “power of trees”.
Out and about on the hiking bus
The easiest way to get to the starting points of the most beautiful hiking trails is to use the hiking bus service.
Mountain biking, road biking or family bike rides
You can have the time of your life on a cycling holiday in the Wagrain-Kleinarl region. Your host Wolfgang is a keen cyclist (US Coast to Coast Tour, Transalp participant) and is always happy to give you help and advice and to guide you on some amazing tours.
Mountain biking
There are a wide variety of mountain bike routes of all levels of difficulty in the area – there is something to suit every type of biker.
One of the region’s new highlights is the long Stoneman Taurista mountain bike trail. The newly developed cycle trail leading towards Wagrain will extend the range of cycle tracks in the valley as of spring 2020.
Family rides
Directly behind our apartment building, there is an easy cycle path that leads along the stream to the Jägersee. The lake’s crystal-clear water invites you to stop for a while, take a stroll around the lake, or enjoy a freshly caught trout on the restaurant terrace. There are various rest stops along the way on the banks of the Kleinarl Ache, where the children can splash about in the stream.
Starting from Wagrain, you have direct access to the Tauern Cycle Trail circuit along a series of well-developed cycle paths, giving you the chance to explore the entire region by bike. We are happy to provide bicycles for children (also trailers).
Road biking
Kleinarl is an excellent starting point for amazing road bike tours catering to all cycling abilities. A good level of fitness is a prerequisite, however, as every tour involves a climb or two.
Gründeckrunde, Roßbrand, Hochkönig/Arthurhaus or up to the Großglockner – these are all tours that will get any cyclist’s heart pumping.
We are happy to provide the following services for your cycling holiday:
- Free bike and mountain bike rental
- Children’s bikes, bike trailers or a child bike seat
- A secure bike storage room
- Service station with work stands and cleaning facilities
- Free tour planning
- Guided tours upon consultation
Enjoy the moment, live in the here and now – this is the essence of yoga.
Focus on your breathing and find your way back to your own centre – this is what we try to teach you during your holiday. With our wake-up yoga in the garden, you will start your day bursting with energy.
Your host Alexandra also offers guided yoga hikes. When doing yoga exercises in the forest, you will learn to trust in the power of nature and feel the roots of your own being once again.
What more could you want than the ski slope right on your doorstep? There’s no need for a car or bus, as you are right in the middle of the ski action. Simply hop on the Champion Shuttle chairlift up to the Shuttleberg ski resort, where you will find a wide range of slopes suitable for people of all ages.
From winter 2020/21, the new Panorama Link will connect the Wagrain ski resort with Kleinarl. This means you will be able to ski from Alpendorf to Zauchensee without taking the ski bus.
Thanks to its altitude at 1,014 m, Kleinarl not only offers high altitude trails with guaranteed snow, but also an extensive network of cross-country ski runs in the valley.
Experienced cross-country skiers will get their money’s worth on the 60 km "Tauernloipe" cross-country ski run and the challenging "Zauchenseeloipe" ski run. The ski schools in Kleinarl and Wagrain offer courses and lessons for beginners, where you can learn the basics or brush up on your technique.
The cross-country ski school in Kleinarl offers courses with qualified instructors.
Your host Wolfgang (certified ski guide) will be happy to take you to the most scenic spots in the mountains and show you the best vantage points. We will also gladly organise the rental equipment for your personal ski tour.
When snowshoe hiking you can really switch off and take in the winter scenery away from the slopes.
